About This Work
This humpback whale wall sculpture, hand carved in Tennessee Red Cedar, makes a striking statement on any wall. Richard Vest, California Wildlife artist loves carving this piece as the humpbacks are his favorite cetacean.
The artist has been carving well over 25 + years, followed by many collectors across the country.
All of his work is for indoor display only, each an original piece with it's own grain, color, texture and personality. Red cedar can vary from totally red in color to red with yellow sapwood tones.
Each piece is signed and copyrighted.
This piece measures approximately 10" x 29" in length. Brass plated saw tooth hangers on the reverse, make it ready for wall hanging. The pectoral flipper comes out about 5" from the wall.
Richard uses Tung Oil as the finish of choice because it penetrates deep into the wood imparting a beautiful lustre finish.
This whale has previously sold, however when you order Richard will carve you a great humpback with all the color, texture, grain, of the original photo work.
Included with each work is a signed Authenticity Certificate/
